About us
This website began with a frustrating observation: when you buy a printed T-shirt, you rarely learn what determines how long the print will last.
Why does it exist?
Open your closet and you'll find a t-shirt, the print of which has cracked after a few washes — and next to it the same old one, which he still wears today. The difference is not in the price. It is in printing technology, which no one will write to you when you buy it.
E-shops indicate cut, material, grammage and color. As a rule, no printing technology. So you buy half the product blindly. We are trying to fill this exact hole.
What you will find here and what you won't
Learn how textiles are printed, how different printing methods hold up in the wash, how to recognise them on a finished T-shirt, and what to ask the retailer. You will also find practical advice on fabric weight, fit and gifts.
You won't find your own tests here. We don't have a washing machine full of samples or a lab, and we won't pretend otherwise. We describe the technologies, mechanisms and what the manufacturers say.
And you won't find made-up numbers here. Independent comparison tests according to washing standards are practically non-existent — most sources are blogs of printers that sell the very technology they write about. Where something cannot be substantiated, we write directly that it cannot be substantiated. It's less impressive than a table of numbers, but it's true.
Who writes it?
One person. Not an editorial office, not a team, not a brand with five copywriters.
We see this as an advantage rather than a disadvantage for two reasons. First: one person has no one to blame when something is written inaccurately, so he is more careful. Second: no one is pushing the volume of content here. We don't have to publish three articles a week to feed the schedule — we can write five honest ones and stop.
It also has a downside, and it's fair to admit it: there's less of it and it grows more slowly.
How we decide what comes here
The rule is one and applies to everything: if the claim cannot be substantiated, it is either not stated, or it is written next to it that it is speculation. A funny website that tells the truth is better than a serious website that hides it — but humor never comes at the expense of information.
The same rule applies to referrals. An article about weight that doesn't say that more expensive is always better is more credible than one that pushes you to go with the most expensive option. That is why we also write what is not worthwhile for each topic.
